Retrofit 95A Bushings:

NYPPD 2½ Year Update Video:

I couldn't find anyone that produced replacement bushings for my NYPPD (Torque Solution clone) motor mount. The only ones I could find were very hard 95A bushings that I had to retrofit. I decided to cast my own 80A bushings using high performance liquid urethane in a 3D printed PETG mold I designed. The results turned out great.

If you do decide to cast your own bushings, you do so at your own risk. Please make sure you are comfortable with this process and that you know what you are doing. Read and follow all the safety information and instructions provided with the liquid urethane and do not use your food oven with the liquid urethane.

In this video you can see how install a prothane polyurethane bushing total kit into my Toyota MR2 aw11 suspension.

I am going to show you how to lube up the bushings, and how to install the torque arm bushings as well as the control arm bushings.

We are also going to be talking about the difficulties of removing suspension components and how to remove the stock rubber bushings from your suspension.

As you will see installing the polyurethane bushings is pretty easy and doesn't really require any special tools. The prothane polyurethane bushings come in two parts and are supplied with the needed super grease to lube up the bushings. The install can even be done with your bare hands but is made super easy when using a table vice.

Justin Credible : add some grease fittings to service your suspension and you will have a lasting upgrade
Arthur Dania : Nice video! You inspired me to do my suspension.
The rear trailing arms of the AW11 have a small concave from the factory. Should they be "arched" or vice versa when installing them?
DanTheManIOM : " be prepared for war" -- I agree, 2 hours for one radius arm bush for me, with a hand wrench.
Randomguycommenting : I have to ask how did ur strut rods hold up?? I have an sw20 mr2 and pressed all my bushings out and ready for polyurethane. I have read that the problematic one is the one that joins the strut rod and control arm where it makes the L shape. Apparently the strut rod can break when you go polyurethane and that one should be replaced with OEM because it’s softer and the way that bushing acts it needs something not too solid, so my question would be is how has ur car and strut rods held up since then??? Ur answer would greatly be appreciated. Thank you .

How to make DIY polyurethane engine mounts

This is the liquid polyurethane I used: https://amzn.to/2VPPayY

Here's a detailed video showing you how to make polyurethane engine and transmission mounts from liquid polyurethane.

The advantages of doing this as opposed to buying ready made aftermarket polyurethane engine mounts are that this method is much cheaper (25 USD for 4 mounts vs. 160 USD for 2 mounts in the case of my car).

The advantages of polyurethane engine (especially torque mounts) are improved responsiveness, no need to replace the mounts ever again, reduced wheel hop and preventing horsepower lost on moving the engine back and forth.

The video shows a detailed procedure, from removing the old mount inserts, burning out the rubber, and pouring in new liquid polyurethane. The product I used is reoflex 60 from smooth-on. There are many others out there however, this is just what was available to me and in the right shore hardness.

The additional benefit of DIY mounts is the fact that you can customize the shore hardness of the mounts to make it best suited to your particular application. I have selected 60A shore hardness which is a nice compromise between the 80A shore hardness stuff which is more suited to track day cars and the 40A shore hardness stock rubber.

The important thing is to ensure the pins inside the mounts are fitted in the same position as stock and they must be positioned to stand flat for the liquid polyurethane to cure properly. Think in advance about where the polyurethane will be drying as this is where the engine mounts will be sitting for anywhere between 16-48 hours depending on the tempereture and liquid polyurethane product/brand.

To skip the intro where I explain everything you need to know about poly mounts go to 4:00 where I start taking out the old ones and pouring new ones in.
I am not in any way sponsored, endorsed, supported, etc. by this company. This info is also in the video description but no one reads that apparently :) There's a lot more good options in terms of liquid urethane out there probably, but this one worked really well for me and bonded itself to the metal mount very well.
Derrick Aquino : Great video by the way. I justed linked to it from my latest filled motor mount update video.
